Welcome!
Eggnog — the frothy, creamy and rich beverage of choice at Christmas — is what we’re all about.
Why have a site dedicated to just eggnog?
Because eggnog is a holiday staple. It just wouldn’t be Christmas without it.
And like all things Christmas, eggnog continues to evolve. Years ago if you didn’t make your own eggnog you could get one kind of one brand of eggnog at the grocery story (if you could get it at all).
Now there are dozens of varieties available just about anywhere.
Eggnog has also branched out: there is eggnog ice cream, eggnog cookies, eggnog cakes and cake mixes, eggnog donuts, eggnog candies, eggnog breads and even eggnog lollypops. Eggnog, it seems, is becoming more and more of a traditional holiday element with different kinds of foods adopting the unique flavor we all seem to love about eggnog.
Eggnog is also one of the few elements of Christmas that carries over to other festive times of the year. It is not unusual for eggnog to come out at Halloween, Thanksgiving and New Years. In fact, years ago, eggnog or at least the earliest versions of it were an every day drink.
So we think it is important to give eggnog it’s little spot here on the Internet where it can be discussed, explored and celebrated:
Eggnog History tells us exactly where it comes from and how it came to what it is today. Eggnog has a long, world-wide story to tell. We’re going to tell that story and keep it alive through this web site.
Eggnog Recipes is where we share what we can find of making things from eggnog. It’s not all about a beverage any more either — there are thousands of available recipes using eggnog and we plan to share the best of them here.
Eggnog Resources is a key component of this site — if you want to know where to get the best products using eggnog or just need a source from an out-of-the-way place that has some special form of eggnog we want to archive that information here.
Yes, eggnog might not always be the first thing you think of when it comes to celebrating a holiday. We admit that. But it is always a part of it and the holidays just wouldn’t be the same without it.
We welcome you here and hope you enjoy your visit.
